Discussion

The development of W-KLIC proceeded along the schedule proposed in the original proposal. The implementation work has not been completed, mainly due to a delayed start of the project (due to administrative reasons) and to a longer period for the understanding of the KLIC implementation.

The implementation is continuing and the first complete prototype of W-KLIC is expected for June '97.

Some additions are also currently planned for W-KLIC:

• development of a Plug-in for Netscape which will allow direct embedding of KL-1 code in HTML documents;
• development of the notion of Logical Document as as a convenient notation to express generalized WWW documents. A pure HTML document is seen as a collection of atoms; the use of clauses to express components of the document will allow to conveniently embed computations in a document.
