AITEC Contract Research Projects in FY1995 : Abstract |
This study aims to construct a robust natural language
analysis system tool that can process not only grammatical sentences
but also ungrammatical sentences that often appear in texts and
conbversations in the real world. We consider ungrammatical sentences
as "sentences that contain omissions, insertions, and replacement
errors in terminal symbols (words) or non-terminal symbols (clauses)."
Our robust parsing system enables to analyse these ungrammatical
sentences, identify error locations and types, and correct the errors.
The system will be developed on KL1 system in both PIMOS and UNIX
environments. The final goal is to implement a general purpose system
that features a high degree of parallelism and is linked with existing
linguistic tools.
