      2. software using intelligent processing and networks, which will be the core of information technology in the future
    • Distribution of software related to the Fifth Generation Computer System Project

  • Q4. What is the purpose of AITEC's investigation?

The current development capabilities of Japan's information technology lag behind those of developed countries such as the U.S..

Information technology, including the Internet, has made the world a borderless, single market and revolutionized distribution by directly linking producers with consumers.

In the U.S., for example, many industries use new information technologies to provide products and services to meet consumer demand more quickly and cheaply, thus revolutionizing corporate structure and business methods. Also, expansion of the information industry has spawned new industries, generated employment and boosted profits.

Japan has not caught up with this "Second Industrial Revolution (dubbed the Information Revolution)". The whole nation has just started to create new industries to provide jobs for those who have lost them due to recession.

AITEC has investigated and analyzed how the U.S. has created many and new information technologies, and how it has succeeded in revolutionizing industry and creating new industries.

AITEC also provides advice on "How Japan should revolutionize its outdated structures and systems", by comparing the results of investigating the Japanese government's structures and systems for promoting development of information technology and new industries.

AITEC thus aims to strengthen the competitiveness of Japanese industries and promote the creation of new businesses.

With the world becoming a single market, companies may not survive without market share, and must be among the top five companies in the world. In such a highly competitive marketplace, AITEC is investigating the role of the Japanese government in technology development and priority areas for investment.
